Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026
The short version: everything you enter in ShowFee stays on your phone. We don't run servers, we don't collect your data, and there are no ads or tracking. If you choose to sign in with Google or Microsoft, ShowFee only uses that to send the emails you approve and add the calendar events you choose.

Who we are

ShowFee is an Android app made by Gary Falzon in Malta ("we", "us"). For anything about privacy, contact us at showfee.app@gmail.com.

What you store in ShowFee

You can enter your bookings (clients, venues, dates, fees and notes), payments, expenses, client contact details (names, email addresses, phone numbers), your own business details (name, contact details, address, VAT number, bank and payment details), an optional logo, and your app settings.

This information is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not sent to us – we have no servers and cannot see it.

When information leaves your phone

Only when you ask for it:

When you…What happens
Send an invoice or payment reminder while signed in with GoogleShowFee sends that one email, with the invoice PDF you see in the preview, through the Gmail API from your Gmail address. A copy appears in your Gmail "Sent" folder.
Send an invoice or reminder while signed in with MicrosoftShowFee sends that one email through Microsoft Graph from your Outlook / Microsoft address. A copy is saved in your "Sent Items".
Add a booking to OutlookShowFee creates that one event (title, time, venue, client, fee and notes) in your Outlook calendar through Microsoft Graph.
Choose "Use email app", Google Calendar, Call or WhatsAppShowFee opens that app on your phone with the details filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it there.
Set up a backup fileAfter each change, ShowFee writes a copy of your data to the file you picked (for example in your Google Drive). That file belongs to you and is stored by the service you chose.
Export to a spreadsheetShowFee saves a CSV file wherever you choose.

The emails and calendar events go to the people and services you choose. Google and Microsoft handle that data under their own privacy policies.

Signing in with Google or Microsoft

Signing in is optional. ShowFee asks only for:

Sign-in is handled by Google's and Microsoft's own sign-in screens; ShowFee never sees your password. The access keys are kept on your phone by Google Play services and Microsoft's sign-in library.

Google API Services: ShowFee's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and no person reads it.

What we don't do

Google's and Microsoft's sign-in components may send basic technical information to Google or Microsoft while you sign in; this is covered by their privacy policies.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, ShowFee shows reminders about upcoming bookings and late payments. These are created on your phone; nothing is sent anywhere.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can:

Because we don't hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side – but you're welcome to contact us with any question.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and move your personal data, and to object to its use. As your data is on your own device, you can do all of this directly in the app. You can also complain to Malta's data protection authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).

Children

ShowFee is a business tool for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's update notes.
